  Souleymane Compo is a master drummer from Guinea Conakry, he has over 10 years of experience in teaching and working with European students. As your main host, he will ensure you have an unforgettable experience in his homeland.

Accommodation and programme

You will arrive in the capital – Conakry, and get a taste of life in this vibrant African city, whilst staying in the heart of a large family home. From there you will travel north up the western coast to Bel Air – a fishing village with idyllic and mostly deserted beaches. You will stay in beach huts, drumming and relaxing under palm trees, and eating freshly-caught fish.

From Bel Air you will continue north to Boke – Souleymane’s home town. You will stay in a peaceful guesthouse with breath-taking views, situated a few kilometres from the bustling market town that is the hub of the region. Your drumming lessons will continue at the guesthouse. You will also have time to swim in the Batafon river, shop in Boke market, and learn about local history at the Museum of Boke...
